Tattered Skies
Altair likes to think of himself as one of the only sane men remaining. Certainly a world on the edge of collapse, where the most of the remains of what one might charitably refer to as society cling to existence in a crumbling city, barely getting by on what they can scrape together from the wastelands and rapidly failing technology,is not very conducive to good mental health. A world where the rich live in a floating paradise in the clouds, in blissful ignorance of the realities of their rapidly failing planet can't be good for the mental health of those excluded from the decadence of the few.
Still, he's never exactly been one to follow a trend just because it's expected of him, either.
But when the world really starts to crack at the seams, when inexplicable, often horrible things start happening, and even the people living their dreams in the clouds start to feel the fear their forgotten fellows on the land have been feeling for decades, where things continue to get worse still, what sane man would try and piece the world back together, only to give it a second chance at tearing itself apart?
Probably, one wouldn't. But sometimes, the only sane response to a situation is to forget you were ever sane in the first place...
